Entitlement to Live and Work in the UK
The Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 requires us to ensure that our employees hold valid documents supporting their identity and their entitlement to work in the UK.
Right to Work documentation – Asylum & Immigration Act 2004 includes:
- UK Passport
- UK Residence Permit
- National Identity Card
- European Economic Area Passport
European Economic Area Countries include:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
The following Countries require individuals to apply for the Workers Registration Scheme:
- Czech Republic
- Estonia
- Hungary
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- Poland
- Slovakia
- Slovenia
The following Countries require individuals to apply for an Accession Worker Card:
- Bulgaria
- Romania
City Link will accept a Birth Certificate if supported by formal documents containing your National Insurance Number, such as:
- Previous Payslip
- P45
- Letter from a Government Body i.e. HM Revenue and Customs
Please note that National Insurance Cards are not valid as supporting documents.
City Link will require all prospective candidates to indicate any convictions subject to the ‘Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, 1974’ on their Application Form and by completing a Disclosure Scotland Application on commencement of employment.
