Kidderminster Open Day

City Link, the UK’s leading premium express delivery company, has opened a new Depot in Kidderminster to meet ever increasing local Customer demand.

And to mark the opening of the depot, the company presented a cheque in the sum of £250 to its nominated charity for the forthcoming year – “Make a Wish Foundation”.

The new 27,500 square foot Depot is almost three times the size of the company’s previous location in Hartlebury. The vastly increased capacity will enable the company to further expand its operation in the region.

The new facility will also house a dedicated local Customer Care team further demonstrating City Link’s commitment to delivering service levels to its Customers that are second to none.

The new Depot represents a six figure investment by City Link. It is equipped with state of the art track and trace IT systems which have been rolled out across the UK as part of a £2.5 million investment. The 40 employees handle over 9,000 parcels per week – a figure which the company anticipates will increase by 20% by the end of the year.

Denise Wigley, General Manager at Kidderminster is excited by the move to the bigger facility and the opportunity this presents.

She commented: “There is no doubt that the future is very exciting. The region has huge potential. Indeed the move has already made a substantial difference to our operation.
“Business is buoyant and we have a number of prospect Customers in the pipeline, whilst at the same time delivering exceptional levels of service locally.”

City Link, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, operates a network of 3,000 vehicles, has over 6,000 employees and over 85 depots across the UK.
